Ada Lovelace Day 2023, our 15th celebration and our first in-person event since 2019, is just a week away!
Seven days to go!
Yes, there are just seven days to go until Ada Lovelace Day Live kicks off at the Royal Institution. We have an amazing line-up of speakers, not to mention a cash bar, book stall and Dr Aarathi Prasad signing copies of her new book, Silk: A History in Three Metamorphoses!
It’s not too late to pick up your own tickets, whether to come in person so that you can soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the Ri’s iconic Theatre, or watch online with friends, family or colleagues, on your sofa or at your own watch party.

Online women in STEM extravaganza
Once again, we are going to be publishing a blog post every hour throughout the day about a woman in STEM or a book by or about women in STEM! You’ll be able to read all the blog posts on our website, or watch out for our posts on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
We will be featuring some brilliant women who have changed our understanding of the world, who have worked towards solving some of the most serious challenges facing humanity, and whose contributions have improved the lives of millions. A century of women at the Royal Institution
It’s 100 years since archaeologist Joan Evans, an expert in English jewellery from the fifth to the 17th centuries, gave the first ever talk by a woman at the Royal Institution, making it the perfect venue for the 15th Ada Lovelace Day.
Ada Lovelace attended lectures at the Ri as well, and it has since hosted a wide variety of female experts, from physicists to neuroscientists to mathematicians. So if the seven fabulous women speaking at Ada Lovelace Day aren’t enough for you, then why not explore some of the Ri’s lectures, articles and podcasts by and about women in STEM?
